Academics

Our commitment to excellence in education is evident through a variety of rigorous academic programs designed to prepare students for success in college and beyond. Our Advanced Placement (AP) Academy provides students with opportunities to challenge themselves with college-level coursework, earning college credit while still in high school. Additionally, our partnership with Lenoir-Rhyne University offers motivated scholars the chance to participate in the High School Scholars Academy, gaining exposure to university-level classes and experiences. For those eager to jumpstart their college journey, our Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) Career and College Promise (CCP) Program enables students to earn college credits at no cost while still in high school. Furthermore, our Career and Technical Education (CTE) offerings provide students with hands-on learning experiences in diverse fields equipping them with the skills needed for success in today's workforce. Moreover, we offer valuable work-based learning opportunities such as internships, apprenticeships, and job shadowing, allowing students to gain real-world experience and explore potential career paths. At Hickory High School, we are dedicated to nurturing the academic growth and aspirations of every student, preparing them to thrive in an ever-changing world.
