Finals season is right around the corner! While it ultimately is up to your students of how they handle finals, you can be supportive as they work hard in the last few weeks of the semester—even from afar!
Here are some helpful tips to encourage your student while preparing for finals:
- Make a study schedule. The Academic Success Center has multiple resources available to students, such as best practices for Counting Down to Finals or a specific worksheet that can be used for a 5 Day Study Plan.
- Don’t put wellness on the backburner. Health Promotion provides an overview of different aspects of wellness, which are specifically important during finals season. For example:
- Tips regarding Health & Wellness: Sleep such as not drinking coffee close to bedtime, sticking to a regular sleep schedule, or establishing a wind down routine.
- Tips for Health & Wellness: Nutrition & Physical Activity such as not skipping meals, avoid stress eating, or participating in regular physical activity.
- Find an overview of ways to cope with stress here: Health & Wellness: Stress & Relaxation
- If the amount of distress becomes overwhelming, Texas A&M has multiple resources regarding students' mental health, including University Health Services or the TELUS Health Student Support app, mental health assistance and resources free for students.
